A Spring Ski Weekend in Kamloops

We’re blessed here in Kamloops to be able to ski right up until March or even April. Located near the Thompson River and Kamloops Lake, Kamloops boasts scenic views and an opportunity to participate in several activities. With the Kamloops Ramada Inn as your base, you’ll be perfectly located to enjoy all of the incredible things the city and surrounding area have to offer.
What To Do
When you are selecting lodging for the weekend, it’s ideal if you are located in the centre of Kamloops, where you’ll have many interesting activities at your doorstep. It helps if the hotel or bed and breakfast where you are staying employs local experts who will help you find the most suitable activities for your family. During your weekend stay, you may also want to visit the local wineries in the region which offer tours of the vineyards along with wine-tasting events. If you stay in a well-known hotel, such as the Kamloops Ramada, management can offer directions to nearby wineries or seasonal festivals.
Where to Ski
Sun Peaks Resort draws amateur and expert skiers from around the country and the province to its Champagne powder. You can drive your own vehicle to the ski resort, or you can use the city's public transportation. Remember that if you stay in at the Ramada Inn in Kamloops, then management can also arrange transportation to Sun Peaks Resort with a local taxi service. It is possible to bring along your own alpine skiing equipment, but many travellers prefer renting it.
Where to Eat
At the end of a long day of skiing or exploring there is no shortage of restaurants where you can enjoy a meal in Kamloops. A few wonderful options include:
• Terra Restaurant
• Brownstone Restaurant
• Blue Dining
• Peter's Pasta
• Jacob's Noodle and Cutlet
• Dorian Greek House
However, if you are exhausted after a long day, then returning to the Ramada Inn in Kamloops is a great idea, and you can visit its restaurants or order room service. The Atta Boy Memphis BBQ offers a variety of meal options, and you can head to the City View Lounge for a drink afterwards.
