Kamloops is such a unique and an amazing destination location for events. Not only is the city based in the heart of wine country in the spectacularly stunning Okanagan region, but Kamloops is also home to hotels near Downtown Kamloops, a beautiful Convention Center, myriad entertainment options, restaurants, and many great event spaces.

Planning an event can be stressful if you’re not familiar with the area, where to book or what specifically to look for. We asked Jeev, the Assistant Manager at Ramada Kamloops, who schedules all of the hotel’s events including fundraisers, board meetings, sports team and company gatherings, to share his tips for booking your next event.
  1. Be Flexible. High season in Kamloops for business travel is typically May to June and July to October. If your dates are flexible, booking during the off-season will help you save on rates. Also, when reserving a space, give yourself plenty of lead time. We highly recommend booking two to three months in advance for groups smaller than 100 and one year in advance for larger groups/events.
  2. Think outside the box. Looking for rehearsal space in Kamloops City? Book one of our ballrooms instead of a studio space. Ramada Kamloops works closely with groups to host their events, and our performance groups love using the ballrooms as rehearsal space.
  3. Take advantage of the services provided. Ramada Kamloops has dedicated staff who will support you in all of your event planning endeavours. Our hotel provides a dedicated service manager who assists with pre-planning to make sure nothing is forgotten—including catering, AV needs for presentations, changing areas and flowers. This person will also be there on the day of the event to ensure everything goes smoothly.
  4. What’s Unique? When shopping for an event space, you may start to feel as if all of the rooms look similar. Be sure to ask your contact why people like their space or what’s special about booking there. The factors that are likely to impact your decision include pricing, amenities, honest hospitality service and special features. The most common question asked about the Kamloops Ramada relates to the windows in our meeting rooms. Unlike most hotels, all of our meeting rooms have windows, so there’s lots of natural light!
