Winter in Kamloops is about more than just crazy busy holidays and hanging around with your family. There are a lot of great ways for you and that special someone to enjoy a weekend getaway in the gorgeous Kamloops area.

Harper's Trail Winery

Start your weekend off with dinner and then some tasty local wine. While there is definitely no shortage of fine wineries in the Kamloops area, Harper's Trail Winery is one of the more popular wineries in the area and the first one in Kamloops. You can enjoy a variety of delicious wines while surrounded by the natural beauty of the Thompson River area. They do have limited hours for the season, so be sure to plan ahead so you don't miss out.

British Columbia Wildlife Park

After enjoying the delicious foods and wines of the area, it's time to get out and enjoy that natural beauty Kamloops is known for. The British Columbia Wildlife Park houses an amazing array of wildlife and plant life that you can see up close and personal. There are more than 40 hectares of animals, plants, and rides for you to enjoy while spending some quality time together. Special events happen regularly, such as the Wildlights Festival during the holiday season.

Outdoor Activities

You may want to get closer while working up a sweat. Kamloops is home to a wide array of outdoor activities and sports that you can partake in as a couple. There are multiple fat biking groups in the area. Fat biking is a sport in which you ride a specially built, fat tire bike through the snowy trails. Nordic skiing is also a popular winter sport in the Kamloops area. State Lake is home to many popular trails for skiers to enjoy.
